Beryllium

Beryllium Sheet/Window

As a free element Beryllium is a steel-gray, strong, lightweight and brittle alkaline earth metal. Beryllium is relatively transparent to X-rays and other forms of ionizing radiation; therefore, it is the most common window material for X-ray equipment and components of particle physics experiments.

EPI Materials supplies high purity Beryllium Foil and Beryllium Sheets in varying size and thickness for a wide range of industrial use

Surface Condition

  1. The surface should be clean, flat without any cracks, scratches and black dots larger than 0.25mm diameter.
  2. Slight airtight black dots (<0.25mm) and scratches are acceptable.
  3. The edge maybe slightly oxidized by wire cut.
